Privacy Policy

Filmhows (“we”, “us”) runs filmhows.com and the Filmhows web app, a tool for tracking the films and series you watch. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at filmhows.biz@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you enter. It is stored in Google Forms / Google Sheets.
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data.
- Your watch log. The films and series you mark as watched or add to your watchlist, episodes you tick off, your ratings, and your settings (such as your country for streaming availability).
- Technical data. Our hosting provider may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to deliver and secure the website.
How we use it
- To provide the app: saving your log, syncing it across your devices, and showing your stats and “cinema passport”.
- To email waitlist members about the Filmhows launch and important product updates. You can ask to be removed at any time.
- To keep the service secure and working properly.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising based on your data.
Where your data is stored
We use trusted service providers to run Filmhows:
- Supabase: stores accounts and watch logs. Each user's data is protected so that only that user can read or change it.
- Cloudflare: hosts the website.
- Google: provides sign-in and stores waitlist sign-ups.
- TMDB (The Movie Database): provides film and series information. When you browse or search, your browser requests that information directly from TMDB. We do not send TMDB your account details.
If you use the app without signing in, your log is saved only in your own browser (local storage) and never reaches our servers.
Your choices and rights
- Download your data: use “Download backup” on the Passport tab of the app.
- Delete your data: email filmhows.biz@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will delete your account and watch log.
- Leave the waitlist: email us and we will remove your address.
- Revoke Google access at any time from your Google Account → Security → Third-party connections.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to save your log on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
Filmhows is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will let signed-in users know in the app.
